Baccarat Hand Values

The Baccarat object is to place a bet on the winning hand. Only two hands are dealt: the Banker hand and the player hand, regardless of how many players are at the table.

Hand Values

Face cards and 10’s are worth zero. The “A” (ace) is worth "one" and the 2 through 9 are worth their face value.

When the total of the hand is more than 9, the first number must be subtracted. The remaining total is the card count.

Some examples:

If the first 2 cards dealt are Queen and 5, the count is five. And 7, 2 and 7, although totaling 16 would count as 6 when you subtracting the 10.

7, 8 = 5 10, 6 = 6 Jack, 4 = 4

10, Jack = 0 9, Ace = 0 Jack, Ace = 1

10, 4, 2 = 6 6, 2, 6 = 4

At the beginning banker and the player are dealt two cards. Depending on the hands value, might be dealt a third card in either case according to the Baccarat drawing rules.
